A novel dynamics model of a trailer bogie brake system and its application in stability analysis

The dynamic performance of the trailer bogie brake system is essential for safe operation a high-speed train during braking process. In this work, we developed novel ten-degree-of-freedom (ten-DOF) dynamics model based on and tribological theories. non-linear factors including disc-pad friction wheel-rail interactions were considered. field test results demonstrated that more intense vibrations occur at low vehicle speeds, which also supported by numerical simulations model. abnormal vibration caused limit cycle oscillation unit, it leads to instability whole system. To further understand system, equilibrium points linear stability under different conditions suspension parameters investigated Lyapunov theory. Then, response affected calculated integration methods. mounting stiffness unit approached 3.4×107N/m primary 6.0×105N/m or remained within range 10×105-14×105N/m, causing violent increased instability. A damping exceeding 2.4×104N·s/m was conducive improving stability.
